Overview

Ayu confesses to her best friend Sawarame that her family name might be changed for her mother’s 3rd marriage. But she starts to live with her mother Uni, step-father Katsuo and step-brother Hamatchi together with her anxiety. The reason why she can’t accept a new family is that her step sister passed away from disease during her mother’s 2nd marriage. On such an occasion, her mother doesn't stay home overnight, it means Ayu has to stay with her step-father and step-brother by herself . So, she invited her best friend Sawarame home at night...

Director Statement

This work is a masterpiece that depicts the emotional conflict between a free-spirited mother who repeatedly remarries and her delicate daughter, Ayu, who is not accustomed to the new environment, and the compromise with her new family. Even in a serious theme, the lines are drawn comically with a lightness. It's wonderful that Ayu and her best friend have a real feeling in the conversation and she is there.
